Thu, Apr 29, 20048:23 AM24 WEEKS! Our baby weighs about 1 1/2 pounds, and is about 12 inches long.

ADVICE: Do NOT ask a pregnant woman when she is due and then say “Oh my! You’re going to have a large baby!”
Do NOT ask a pregnant woman “How much weight have you gained anyway?”
Do NOT say to a pregnant woman “WOW! Are you having twins?”
DO NOT SAY “You are getting huge!”
All this does is make the pregnant woman want to stomp on your toes with her big feet and jump up and down!

Last night was so windy! I went for a walk and it felt like 12 times as far. I told Kevin if he sees a big orange blob rolling across the field to come get me!

I also cut Kevin’s hair for the first time. I was pretty impressed with myself. We made a bargain-if I cut his hair, he would vacuum. Not a bad deal in my opinion.

Mon, Apr 26, 200410:23 AMOk- I am officially tired. 🙂

I had a fabulous weekend w/ Leah, Tony & Cora in K.C. but all that energy I had last night that was driving Kevin crazy is GONE!

We went down for a Reliv conference and it was great! I learned a lot & have a lot more confidence in our business now.

Today in the hall I ran into an ex- student of mine & she is 2 months farther along in her pregnancy, but looks smaller than me. My theory is the shorter you are, the more you pop out :).

Mon, Apr 19, 20047:10 AMWhat a busy weekend!! I went and got my haircut on Sat morning. I love the new ‘do.

Then my mom called to let me know that Cory and Bekki were planning on coming up as well, so suddenly I was making lunch for 7! It turned out great tho’ because my family is so good about helping, that really all I had to do was direct traffic, and they did all the work. 🙂 We had a delicious lunch. Then in the afternoon we watched Cora and Mom, Bekki and I worked on making my outfit with my new old sewing machine. It’s new to me- we bought it at an auction, but it’s old, my guess is it’s from 1950! We ran into some problems with the pattern, but it seems like the outfit will fit me for another two months-I HOPE! When I get it finished, I’ll post pics. Dad & Cory were busy outside; they mowed almost our whole yard (& we have over an acre!) Then that night we went to Happy Joe’s for pizza and to listen to our friend’s band.

Sunday Kevin & I had our first marriage mentoring session with another couple. It went really well and we learned a lot. We worked in the nursery at church and then we went to visit his grandma in the nursing home. Then we went to get the truck and pick up the free Jeep our friend Michael is giving him. It is a REALLY generous gift even tho’ the Jeep doesn’t run. So that took all afternoon. Finally we got home and did our Bradley homework. We haven’t been doing well doing our exercises and such every day. Kevin said, “Man! Having a baby is a lot of work!” and it isn’t even here yet!

Wed, Apr 14, 200411:56 AMI had an appointment with Gayle this morning. I’ve gained 6 more lbs, bringing the grand total to 11. Everything looks good. I have to have another ultrasound at 28 weeks to ensure that I don’t have placental previa, which would mean that the placenta is partially or totally covering the cervix & I couldn’t give birth to the baby. It looked iffy in the first ultrasound, so she wants to double check and make sure that the placenta has moved in position to the side- and we can have a normal, non-complicated birth! Keep your fingers crossed and your prayers up for us!

Mon, Apr 12, 200411:43 AMWe had our first Bradley class tonight. There are 7 other couples in there, all of us due in the heat of the summer time. It was interesting to see how everyone was doing (and surreptitiously compare bellies-mine’s the second biggest!). At the end of the class, we were doing this relaxation practice: everyone was lying on the ground with their pillows (which we had to borrow because we didn’t know we were supposed to bring them:)), the room was dark and quiet and our teacher was reading a relaxing prose about walking in the woods and it was all peaceful and quiet and I GOT THE GIGGLES! I COULD NOT stop laughing! Yeah, that’s me, little miss disruption. Oh well, I think my classmates will forgive me if I bring really good treats.

Sat, Apr 10, 20047:47 PMOK- just for the record- there are some really strange characters out there. So I’m standing in line at the convenience store and this big ol’ trucker type- who incidentally has a big ol’ belly hanging over his belt- looks me up and down and says with a sly grin and a wink, “UH-OH! Looks like someone got too close to Daddy!” Then proceeds to sashay by me as if that were a common enough of a comment to make to a TOTAL STRANGER!! I don’t know where he got his sex ed, but he’s a teensy bit off base!! SHEESH! Some people!

Wed, Apr 7, 20047:46 PMDaddy felt Nubbin move for the first time! S/he is a fiesty little guy, rolling around in there at all hours of the day and night. Naturally, s/he is most active when I am not!

Mon, Apr 5, 20047:52 PMToday was a fun day. My friend Lisa who is expecting in October came down to Knoxville. It was great to see her and catch up on all the goin’s on since she moved. We did a bunch of baby stuff- well, actually only one thing, but it was a really big store! Kevin & I had started an online registry at Babies-R-Us, and so with Lisa’s help, I was able to complete it. We only have a Toys-R-Us here; so although you can buy from the Babies-R-Us at a Toys-R-Us, you don’t actually get to see and try out the items.
