Tue, Aug 31, 20044:13 PMI don’t know why I was so excited the first time Aviana cried real tears. They just make it that much more excrutiating when she works herself up into a tizzy.

She had her first trip out of town yesterday. We went down to Gigi and Opa’s for the afternoon and Uncle Cory was able to come for a visit too. It was a very low key afternoon. Daddy took a much needed nap while the grandparents doted on the baby. We just hung out and chatted. I harassed Cory as much as possible; since I don’t get to see him that often I have to squeeze in as much teasing as possible on those occasions that we are together. (Love you , Munch!)

Mon, Aug 16, 20044:00 PMStrange places Aviana has nursed:
The baby section at Wal-mart
At the insurance office while the agent is filling out our questionaire
The bleachers at the Back Water Gamblers site
The furniture section at Farm-n-Fleet
In a “dish chair” in a randem Target aisle
On the side of the road in the driver’s seat
A glider at the back of the “Vintage Baby” store
The bathroom at church

We tried going for a walk today but surprise, surprise Aviana wanted to eat before we got very far so we had to turn around and come home.

Fri, Aug 13, 20044:11 PMAviana cried real tears today!

She met her great-grandparents and her great-Aunt Barb. They and Gigi and Opa and Tia, Tony and Cora came for lunch. She really enjoyed seeing all of her relatives. She demonstrated this enjoyment by looking around, occasionally making eye contact, periodically yawning, crying a bit, eating a lot, and for her coup de force, got the hiccups!

Thu, Aug 5, 20044:00 PMAviana had her first pediatrician appointment today. She left the hospital at 5 pounds exactly and now she is up to 5# 12 oz.! She’s a good eater. Dr. said that she is a healthy little girl- just what we were hoping for :).

Tue, Aug 3, 200410:34 PMI had my check up with Rita today. My BP is back to normal and I’ve lost 30 pounds in the last two weeks! That just doesn’t seem possible! She reassured us that I’m all set for a “regular” labor for next time and we did everything right that could be done this time.

We went to Target to buy yet more “nappies”- she doesn’t yet fit into the cloth ones we have for her. I ran into a couple of students there…today was the first day of school and I feel a little sad that I’m not there.

We also got our digital camera so I am thrilled to be able to take even more pics of this precious taquito. And our co-sleeper came today too. Just a red letter dayaround the H House!

Sun, Aug 1, 20048:27 PMMama’s Birthday! We didn’t do a whole lot today mostly because we are all tired and Daddy has a rotten case of poison ivy! Last night we went to the drive-in with Tia, Tony and Cora. Aviana slept almost all of the way through the first feature “I,Robot”, and we both slept all the way through the second film (but I had seen it before). Then tonight we went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s new house. We grilled out and had home grown sweet corn and tomatoes- YUM! Grandma had made me a cake too.

My last year in my twenties. Sigh.
